1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Roadster

It might already be sold, but you can still view the stunning beauty of this 1969 280SL with only 37,000 original miles!

It is very seldom that we find an original, low mileage survivor 280SL, but to find two in a row is absolutely amazing. This particular car has a wonderful documented history from new. It was sold new to a lady from Dover, MA, by Foreign Motors in Boston on April 22, 1969. She traded in a 1965 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible on it. She left it to her son on February 29, 1984 with only 20,008 miles. He started bringing it to us for service on May 31, 1988 with 26,790 miles. In the fall of 1989 we purchased it from the son and subsequnetly sold it to a local collector on November 15, 1989 with 27,226 miles on it.

Almost four years later, we bought it back from him on July 28, 1993 with 28,776 miles on it. He only drove it 1,500 miles during that time. We then sold it to a well known collector on August 3, 1993 with 28,780 miles on it.

After 18 years, we just bought it back with only 37,942 miles on it. We have many service records documenting the service and care this car has had through the years by its caretaker owners. It is a true original survivor car with original paint, chrome, carpets, interior, drive train, etc. The soft top canvas was replaced once and is in excellent condition. We just completed a major service and detail to bring it up to our high standards.

If you weren't lucky enough to ownb one of these in 1969 this car truly turns back the hands of time as this car looks, drives, and handles as it did when new. I believe this to be the best original, untouched 280SL in the country. As a restorer of these cars for the last 38 years, I can always restore one to like-new condition but I cannot create an original car - only Mercedes-Benz could have done that over 40 years ago!

1995 Porsche Carrera C2 Coupe

The 993 is the last and most refined of the air-cooled engine models, and with only 36,000 Miles this 993 is in pristine condition. This car features a brilliant Iris Blue Metallic exterior with beautiful Grey Full Supple leather. All books, manuals, extra keys, tool kit, un-mounted spare, two sets of factory floor mats, and complete service records are included. It has no New England winters, and the undercarriage is super clean like the rest of the car. Properly maintained with thorough receipts from day 1. This Porsche was specially ordered by a U.S. Porsche Dealer Owner for himself and was picked up by him on September 15th, 1994 in Stuttgart Germany. It was manufactured from the "exclusive-programme". A year later on August 10th, 1995 he sold it to the first owner with only 890 Miles. Since then it has been owned by true Porsche Enthusiasts who only drove it sparingly in nice weather. This 993 is extremely well optioned, including Heated Seats, Sunroof, Locking Differential with Active Brake Differential, Anti-Lock Brake System, Short Shift, 18" Turbo Twist Wheels, 8-Way Comfort Power Seats, Electric Mirrors, Power Windows, Rear Window Defroster, Cruise Control, Hi-Fi Sound Package, High-End Alpine In-Dash CD Player, and Painted Wheel Crests. It has very recent Pirelli P Zero tires with little wear (225/40 ZR 18 Fronts, 265/35 ZR 18 Rears). It is a non-smoker car, with no dings, dents or scuffs. This Porsche has had no accidents or damages, and has a clean CarFax. It is pristine throughout and there are very few that are better overall. This car looks and drives as new and is a true Hatch & Sons Quality Car!

1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL

With only 18,000 two-owner miles, this 1988 560SL is an excellent example of the 107 series. Features all original paint (DB-355 Diamond Blue Metallic) on a DB-272 Blue Leather interior. Both the interior and exterior are in virtually flawless condition. A southern car with absolutely no rust or winters. Non-smoker, no dings, dents, accidents, etc. The second owner acquired the car from the first owner who was a friend of his. All original books, spare, keys, etc.

1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Roadster

Equipped with automatic transmission, factory Becker Europa AM/FM Stereo Radio, and original dealer-installed Frigiking Air Conditioning.

We just stripped to bare metal and repainted this rust-free, all original panel SL in Sikkens two-stage Eurothane Enamel DB-571 Metallic Red; its stunning and optional rare original color! It was a difficult decision, and as you can see in the before photos, the paint was very nice and would have been fine for most people – however it was not Hatch & Sons quality; but it is now.

The black interior is perfect and original as you would expect in a low mileage example like this. We did refinish the original wood dash trim in the correct satin finish. We also replaced the soft top with correct original German Canvas material. Even the clock still keeps good time.

After 40 years, even with its extremely low mileage, it still needed a complete mechanical refurbishment at a cost of over $20,000.

This car is fully sorted and drives like new. It is not a “Garage Queen”. Amazingly, it still has the original grease pencil markings from the production line inside the headlight buckets. The inside of the bumpers, headlights, taillights, and trunk gasket still have the original assembly line date stamps.

Probably the most telling thing about this car is its chrome. It is all original, we did not replace one single piece of chrome on this car; and not only is it original, it is exceptional. No dings, no dents, no tarnish. It is the nicest original chrome I’ve seen on a 280SL in 30 years, and I’ve owned a lot of them, over 130 at last count since my first 67 230SL in 1973; not to mentions the hundreds we serviced and restored for our customers as well.

Even the original tinted windshield is in nice shape with no chips, stars, or sandblasting. We did of course replace the gasket while it was out for painting.

This was truly a sympathetic restoration to one of the best and last survivors out there. This may be one of your last chances to get a true “Hatch & Sons” 113SL, as I’m not sure how many more, if any, I will do.

Of course, it comes with the original books, manuals, tool kit, top handles, and original Firestone Phoenix white-wall tire in the trunk.
